245 bed Student accommodation with a mix of studios, twodios and premium apartments as well as residents lounge, private dining room, fitness suite, cinema, and study rooms.
With the rooms requiring a large number of pattresses, we used knowledge from previous projects to offer a VE for the use of British Gypsum Habito board.
Habito provides the ability to fix heavy and difficult items such as shelves, radiators and TVs into place without any need for drills or specialist fixings; the strength of the board allows fixing straight into the wall surface. This reduces the need for pre-planned, pre-installed pattressing, not only saving on installation time, it can reduce the overall cost of the build. It also means that interiors can be redesigned time and time again.

This project converted an existing 13 storey office building, Capital House, to provide purpose built student accommodation plus the creation of 11 four-storey student townhouses. The upper floors of Capital House were refurbished internally to accommodate 295 student bedrooms whilst the townhouses contain 128 rooms providing a total of 423 rooms across the site.

11 storey 283 bed student accommodation in the heart of Southampton for main contractor Galliford Try. With a small site footprint forward planning was key to ensure the vast amount of stud and board could keep up with the fast-track programme. Gypsum management and Operatives managed not only to keep up but improve on the handover date snag free.
