Starting out as a Plasterer and then working as a Contracts Manager, this gave me a huge understanding on all aspects of how the business works. My role now is overseeing the business from reviewing final tender submissions to final project completion by ensuring our commitment on every project is delivered.
I control and manage our financials with diligent budgeting and company planning. I work closely with our estimating, surveying, and contracts team to drive and achieve our financial and company goals. I am always striving for further improvements and streamlining within our business to continue our success.
Starting out on the tools with the previous MD, Dave Nicholson, I have worked with Gypsum for as long as time itself. I have a great knowledge of all things practical, and my main role now consists of overseeing projects to ensure smooth delivery of our services and assisting the supervisors to achieve this.
I have been a member of the team since 2015, I provide a commercial and contractual lead within the business and surveyor department, along with carrying out quantity surveying duties on live projects. I Previously spent 18 years QS-ing for various large and medium size main contractors.
Joining the team in January 2023, I bring with me a wealth of surveying experience from my time main contracting. My priority is collaborating with our clients and team for successful project delivery.
I manage all estimating and procurement needs for the company. With 15 years’ experience within the construction industry, I draw upon my technical experience to drive down project costs with the assistance of our extensive supply chain, this in turn benefits both ourselves and our clients enabling us to provide robust and reliable tenders.
I have 20 years’ experience in Building/Drylining, which has given me a good knowledge in most aspects of the industry and accumulated many skills in most trades along the way. I manage our trades on different sized projects whilst working closely with our clients site team to ensure delivery of a high-quality build and within programme.
I started as a Dryliner and Ceiling Fixer in 2001. Originally, I came on with Gypsum for 2 weeks work, that was in 2014, continued as a fixer for many years and then became a Contracts Manager in 2017. I manage our site team, health & safety and programming.
I started plastering in my early 20’s with Gypsum. I then tried a few other career options along the way and have now settled into a role back with Gypsum Site Supervising and training to be a Contracts Manager. I enjoy communicating with people and taking responsibility which is an important part of the job.
